TL;DR: We made a first-person psychological horror game set in an abandoned hospital — atmosphere over jump scares, flashlight management, puzzles, and a mystery to uncover. First gameplay trailer below, would love your honest feedback.
We’ve been working on Panic House: Awakening for a long time, and we’ve just released our first gameplay trailer.
It’s a first-person psychological horror game set in an abandoned hospital. You wake up inside with no memory of how you got there, and you explore the building, solve puzzles, search for clues, and try to figure out what happened while something unseen follows you.
We didn’t want to lean on constant jump scares. The goal was to let the environment do the work — long quiet hallways, distant noises, flickering lights, and the feeling that something is nearby even when you can’t see it. You also manage a limited flashlight battery, which keeps the exploration tense.
Making horror turned out to be harder than we expected. We’ve spent countless hours tweaking lighting, sound, and small details just to make walking down a hallway feel uncomfortable. Lots of trial and error, but we’re happy to finally have something to show.
If you have a few minutes, we’d love honest feedback on the trailer — what works, what doesn’t, and what you’d change. We’re especially curious whether the atmosphere lands.
